HIMSS Analytics Asia Pacific honors Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital with Stage 6 award
As of Q1 2014, just 10.4% of more than 8,600 hospitals tracked by HIMSS Analytics* had reached Stage 6 and beyond on its Electronic Medical Record Adoption ModelSM (EMRAMSM). (*includes HIMSS Analytics US, Europe and Asia Pacific) and this number stand at 3.1% for Asia Pacific.
TAIPEI, (June 13, 2014) - HIMSS Analytics announced Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital (KMUH), has received the acute care Stage 6 award. The award represents attainment of the highest level on the Electronic Medical Records Adoption ModelSM (EMRAM), which is used to track EMR progress at hospitals and health systems.
HIMSS Analytics developed the EMR Adoption ModelSM in 2005 as a methodology for evaluating the progress and impact of electronic medical record systems for hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics® Database. Tracking their progress on a 8-stage scale, hospitals can review implementation and utilization of IT applications where Stage 7, the highest stage, represents presence of an advanced electronic patient record, paperless environment and capability for community healthcare information exchange.
As of Quarter 1, 2014, announced Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, located in Taipei, Taiwan is only the 14th hospital in Asia, the 4th in Taiwan and the 1st in South Taiwan to be awarded the HIMSS Analytics Stage 6 Award.

The hospital received the award at the HIMSS eHealth Forum 2014 in Taipei, Taiwan held from 13 to 14 June 2014.
